Miss Mikaela was born and raised in Lethbridge, Alberta and has been a longterm member at VanDance since the ripe old age of three years’! She has been with VanDance ever since and has enjoyed many roles including student, mentorer and teacher/choreographer. She is a devoted and passionate person who loves to learn and share her talent with children. She has studied and successfully completed the Al Gilbert Syllabus up to Tap 9 and has completed her RAD examinations (both vocational and pre-professional) such as Advanced 1 and has attended the Royal Winnipeg Ballet Summer Intensive. Miss Mikaela has trained in various styles of dance and has received many awards from festivals, examinations and scholarships.
In her second year of University, she wanted to explore dance further and attended Adelphi University in New York majoring in dance. She was under the supervision of Frank Augustyn and she studied extensively a variety of dance disciplines, costume design and dance history. She has worked with various choreographers such as Orion Duckstein, Jennifer Kreichman, Adelheid B. Strelick and Marnie Wood. She loves to perform and has been apart of numerous stage productions such as New West Dear Santa, Humanitarian Japan Relief and the Haptikos dance project.
Miss Mikaela is currently in her 4th year at the University of Lethbridge completing her Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Mikaela looks forward to inspire others and to pass on her passion for dance!
