McKenna started dancing at the age of 4 years old at Van Dance Studios in Lethbridge, where she received training in tap, jazz, ballet, hip hop, lyrical, modern, and musical theatre. McKenna has completed her Grade 8 Al Gilbert tap examination and Grade 8 Royal Academy of Dance ballet examination. She danced competitively for over 12 years at competitions across Western Canada and in the United States. McKenna’s dance experience has not been limited to just studio time but also at conventions such as, Triple Threat, Jump in New York and Dance Power Vegas. McKenna has also had the opportunity to dance on the Royal Caribbean Cruise lines with Van Dance multiple times.
After graduating in 2015, McKenna taught at a recreational dance program to children aged 3-14 in Bow Island, Alberta for 3 years while attending the Medicine Hat College. Since graduating college, McKenna has decided to attend the University of Lethbridge where she is majoring in French & Spanish education. McKenna is looking forward to being a part of the Van Dance family for another year and to share her love of dance with her students.
